vailliant turbo max 242 (no hot water from taps)

hi there
could anyone help diagnosing the fault on my boiler.
the boiler whas allready fitted when we moved in to the property so as per usual no user manual & no idea of the age of the boiler.i think its the turbo max 242 comparing it to photos.
The problem is when the switch is set to the hot water symbol the light doesn't come on & the boiler doesn't fire up when hot taps turned on.Then when i move switch to heating & water symbol the heating works fine but the water from taps just warm then it goes cold then warm etc. when the heating reaches its temperature range the boiler wont fire up for the hot water.
any ideas on this fault would be much appreciated

You have a problem with your boiler, either with the diverter valve , aqua sensor etc, etc, etc. Job for RGI.
