Good morning
Thanks for letting me join it is much appreciated.

I've got a valiant ecotec pro 28 boiler and I'm having issues with the room thermostat it is not working.

It is a Siemens RCR10/433 GB.
With a Siemens RDJ 10RF controller.
See attached images.

Basically i am concerned as to whether it is wired into the boiler it's self correctly or not.
Please see images of wiring atatched.

What is my best option her as with gas prices going up up and away i seriously need more control of this boiler.

Any help would be very much appreciated TIA.

Does the boiler shut down completely, when the horizontal slide switch in your second photo - is moved to the off position, extreme right?

It might have lost pairing. Is the display working? Try what I suggested.
Hi

Just popped new batteries into it and it's display lights up, but that's all it does.

The receiver or box by the boiler just has the green light on it,

The display box in both positions does not do anything at all.

Thanks

Re-pair it!
Hi,

I've done this and pressed test at the end of it number 6 in the image below it worked the light to show it was paired.

But after that nothing at all happens.

Is my wiring correct inside the boiler please?

It is a valiant ecotec pro 28 boiler and am not sure if someone previously messed around with the wiring for the Siemens RCR10/433 GB connections inside the boiler.

The reason i ask is i can not pair the Siemens RDJ10RF to the above.

I have 5 wires from the Siemens control box colours as follows.

1 x brown to live in boiler
1 x neutral in the boiler
1 x yellow/green to earth in boiler
1 x grey to RT TERMIN in boiler
1 x black wire not connected inside the boiler.

Also inside the boiler the 24v RT loop is still in place.

The BUS connection is empty with nothing whatsoever in it.

Should i have one black cable not connected at all in the boiler.

It's 5 wire cable.

Thanks

Link is often made in the receiver. The link at 24v might be an error (often is) or could have been put in so the boiler will work. Does the receiver have an orange light when you put the thermostat temperature higher than the room temperature?

When moving thermostat above room temperature the orange light comes on but the boiler does nothing

Do you have the time clock 150 or any other? Post a photo of the front of the boiler including the panel. Also, just as an FYI the cover you removed to access the wiring forms part of the room seal (should be tested for safety afterwards)

Ok, so no time clock. Check the heating temperature on the front. Pressure the top right hand button (possibly twice after initially waking it up) and tell me what it's set to

Hmm, boiler should show a demand as the 24v link is in. Can you press the top 2 buttons and check the status code, should be either S.30 or S.31.
