I have a T- type washing machine valve in my hot water pipe before the hot water tap. I have purchased a machine that doesn't need the hot water supply but I cannot get the valve to stop leaking water and it keeps flooding into the cupboard uder my sink. What can I do?

sorry mate could you give some more
info cos I really dont get what your saying

This valve is it leaking from the hose union or from its body?

Do you mean you no longer need the hot supply?
If so you can take off the tee and just use a coupler. I would use a pushfit plastic one as they are a bit longer and you sound like a diyer. :)

The valve is no longer in use and is leaking from the outlet to machine even though I have closed off that port. The hot water pipe has been put very close to the cold water supply and access is extremely difficult.

Are you saying you have turned off the hot water valve but it is still leaking out of the unconnected hose still attached to the hot pipe?
As new washers only need a cold supply you can disconnect the hot supply hose and remove the valve replacing it with a coupler as in my previous post.
Try turning off the valve first as this should cut off the supply. If it won't turn off replace it with a new one or as above :)

Thanks Bahco! I will try to use a pushfit connector and see if that does the job. Accessibility is the biggest problem as there is only 1/2" between the hot and cold pipes at the top of the cupboard. I need a good plumber!
