hi there, long time since i last posted, but here goes.
I have a beech block worktop I installed and oiled with danish oil, due to the odd spill and my own lack of care it needs sanding and recovering, but i am not really inclined to oil it if there is a varnish that will serve it well and last longer.
likewise some hardwood french doors is installed were initially oiled the same but that has definatley not stood up to it externally. What varnish could i use (preferably satin) that would protect them from heavy rain.
So, in summary, varnish or varnishes that will protect beech worktop and hardwood french doors but allow them both to do whatever it is wood does.
