As I am a poor person I have taken very nicely to running my van on vegetable oil and happy to report I am saving my precious money!
If you are strapped for cash like me maybe you should do it as well.

If you aren't poor "Don't be so Tight buy proper fuel"!!

Good for you. Would you care to tell us more: source of the oil you use; what pretreatment you need; any modifications to the vehicle?

You can lots of info here;
http://www.vegetableoildiesel.co.uk/

The diesel engine is quite a simple its operation, its the computerised modern parts that make using veg oil more of a challenge.

Also have a look at Wikipedia for other reference. Remember diesel prices could be MUCH higher in 12 months time and you can't trust it will still be affordable!!

Hi i have just completed a bio diesel processor it will be up and running next week i have just sourced a supply of used cooking oil and will be processing that into bio fuel i should be able to make it for around 40p per litre the processor is my own design based on what is called an appleseed type i am a retired heating engineer/plumber and its all to do with plumbing etc
Most people do not know that legally i can make 2500 litres for my own use with out paying any duty at all but i have to keep records of where and how much oil has been purchased and how much has been made the info is for the customs and exsise
By the way a taxi driver is being prosecuted for usin straight cooking oil as it is not classed a bio fuel bio fuel has to come up to a set standard
that is approved by customs before you can use it so if you get stopped and dipped you could be in trouble
so the way is use a proper processor the uses a catalyst to remove
the glycerine etc

I sounds technical but its easy once you get started and follow certain guidelines you can do it try www.biodieselpictures.com and read some of the postings

I take what you say on board and defer from expressing my own view! Good luck with your production.
