Hi
I am looking at installing a sloping roof to replace an existing flat roof on a kitchen extension. It will be very tight to get a 15 deg slope before hitting the upstairs windows, hence I need a "thin roof"
Having spent too long looking on the internet I have seen the Velux installation instructions and these show a counterbattened roof construction. Is this ncessary or can I use standard battens only?
Also for the Velux I was looking at the 114x118 windows. My rafters will be at 125 x 50 @ 400 c/c which will mean that doubling up the rafters on either side is not quite the equivalent of 400 spacing. Is this an issue or do I need a narrower window?
Any other suggestions gratefully received.
Cheers
Antony
