I have spotted a damp patch inside the house at top of wall inline with the corner of the velux window where wall meet pitched vaulted ceiling. I think I need the foam strips that sit under the tiles - it did have them but they have since deteriorated and I pulled out what was left thinking I dont need them --- turns out I do
I think this is the stuff but mine was without the cuts and was just a triangle shape. They seem quite expensive so anyone know if theses are the correct ones and where to buy. - Thanks all

The foam upstand is there to help prevent rain splash and snow build-up from entering onto the felt.

Yes they are required.

Thanks, funny enough I have only just noticed it during the wind we have just had, there is a lot of moss now where the foam used to be. Do you know if that if that one in the picture is the only one that is supplied now, as I say mine was just a triangle profile and was not self adheasive either and I dont think it was as tall as that in the picture which is 70mm high. My tiles are double Roman or similar.

Dare day any reasonable cut of foam will do. Try cutting a piece of Armaflex/kflex pipe lagging to shape and tucking in. About 2 quid a metre, comes with a self adhesive strip too

You generally end up cutting the foam to suit the profile of the tile or fold it (correctly). As said, a suitable alternative could work,

I suppose that is the idea of the cut top to bend and follow the form of the tiles

Th cheapest i can find the velux stuff is £19 incl post for 2.2m.

Wonder if I could carefully put spray foam in there - not to much - just to do what the foam does - I have used spray foam a lot and have a gun for proper control too.

ALLRIGHT ALLREADY, message got loud and clear.
So just to check is the pictures the one that is standard now as its not quite the same as the old one.

Spray foam is wonderful. Til it expands into a place you don't want it, then it's a nightmare to undo unless you catch it quick with acetone spray.

Also seems really good at dissolving certain paints commonly found on window frames. As does the acetone spray you undo the foam with

If you've found genuine velez at a tenner a metre, get it. If you want a fifth of the price, try Armaflex. If you want a twentieth of the price you might be trying a little too hard!?
