Velux Roof Windows

I am thinking or replacing an old rooflight with a similar sized velux window, as well as installing a completely new velux window on the same pitch.

Can anyone give me some pointers? Is it an easy DIYer job, or should I forget it and go with a professional?

Velux window do come with easy to follow instruction plus helpline phone number and all depend how confident you are. You will need to double the roof rafter on each side of the window from top ridge to bottom wallplate. And finally please DO NOT work off a ladder ! Do your risk assessment first.
