I had to visit Tamworth about five years ago. Parked my car and went to get my parking token to put on the windscreen. Parking fee say 70p Can't recall exact amount but if you put a pound coin in you get change.
W O R N G. No change and no sign saying no change given. The chap I was with helped me look all over for a sign saying no change given. This was a Council car park. Off I went to the town hall to have a word or ten in the ear of the pric* incharge of car parking. The lady at reception being the perceptive sort informed me HE was out. I want my change so nip up to his office and get it from one of his staff. None of them are in. O K let me speak to the trading standards office. They don't operate from this building and the building they do operate from is the other side of Tamworth. All lies. My solisitor wrote to them and they said there was a sign stating No change given. I bet there blo*ywell was by then. If a private car pak had tried these tricks the council would have come down on them like a ton of bricks. Still at least I managed to get the bast***s to put up a sign to protect other users. By Jove Mrs that feels better.
Just one other thing Tamworth was shut.
