I need to fit a vent to a section of roof.
The construction from the inside is:
plasterboard
Celotex and rafters
old black felt
Clay double roman tiles
There are foxing marks on the plasterboard, by which I mean small brown-ish spots which have developed over this area since it was built 7 years ago.
The marks are also on the end of the screws which hold the plasterboard on the beams.
The building control officer did say at the time of his visit to install vents.
I drilled two or three one inch diameter holes in the soffit board at the lower end and hoped that would do the trick as vents.
It did not.
My assumption is that the brown spots are caused by damp. It only affects one end of the ground floor bedroom which does not have good ventilation.
Can some kind roofer recommend the most appropriate type of vent, either a tile or something which attaches to a tile
