Hi there folks,

I have just moved in to a new house and have found that in the nice new garage conversion there is a large hole about 4 inches in diameter, looks like it may have been for a tumble drier.

Now that the cold weather is beginning to set in its getting pretty cold in there. The wall is made up of plaster board with insulation behind it, a gap then the outside brick which on the outside is covered by a metal vent. The hole goes right through the plaster board, insulation and brick.

I was looking for advice on
A/ Should I be covering the hole inside/outside
B/ How I shoulld be covering/filling it

Thank you for any help.

Replace the materials like for like David.

Remove the external grill, cut the hole square then brick up.
Replace the missing insulation and renew the plasterboard.
