Hi,
I would like to have some AC downstairs, in a cheap way that doesn’t involve coring big holes in brickwork. I was thinking of venting a portable DUAL hose AC into the sub floor void, where air would circulate ultimately through air bricks at the front and back of house. House is a hundred and a bit years old with suspended floor, not insulated, and about 50cm between the earth and floor joists (sleeper walls are honeycombed).
Would this be an awful idea? I was thinking it could make the timber in the suspended floor damp, but then it would only be used when it was very hot out so I’m not sure it would. I’d get a window kit but I’d like to be able to run it when I’m home if it gets too hot, for the sake of the dog and the fish.
Thanks!
