Hi
If you have a look at the link below there's a few issues regarding ventilation and inner room fire protection to get around building control.

My proposal would be trickle ventilation in the patio doors and heat detector and and smoke detectors in the kitchen and lounge interlinked with rest of the property. Would this suffice? or do i need extra vents and protection.

Any advice would be appreciated

It is allowabe to have a kitchen as an inner room for Part B

For lounge ventilation, doubtful that arrangement will be allowed.

Change the lounge window to a door/window acceptable for ventilation and escape.

The kitchen has egress through the utility room AND through the door to the left? which leads on to an escape route not through another room?

If the lounge is an inner room, that arrangement would not be acceptable for ventilation purposes; also, not permissible for means of escape as it would have to be through an access room.

Some people would take off the patio doors when the inspection was done, and then re-instate.

But they would be leaving themselves with a less-safe set-up, and they might find problems in the event of an insurance claim.
