going to fit a new integrated fridge/freezer over the weekend, but don't really want to fit the ventilation panel in the plinth below, purely for cosmetic reasons. Is there any reason I can't just fit it in the plinth below my range cooker - basically got plinth returns parallel to the sides of the range cooker, only 70 cm away from the fridge freezer cabninet, with nothing to block the air flow.

TIA

I has done a few of them, the best way I found was to cut 25mm slotted out on top of the plinth so the air circulate under the unit to the back and top. You can't really see it because it's further back from the front and only noticeable at floor level.

Do as Masona has suggested, you do need the vent to be below & above the appliance, The ventilation acts as a chimney, the larger the vent can be the better. Whilst the appliance will still be able to operate with a small vent you run the risk of fire/over working the system & above high running costs.

Yes you're right, my integrated fridge comes with a cutting out template so the hole locate under the motor to prevent overheating I assume.
