Veritas 8 Compact

Hi,

I am replacing an old 1987 Horizon alarm panel with a Texecom Veritias 8 Compact and need some help confirming a few of the wires to be transferred over.

So I have the supply no problem.

All the zones labelled so should be straight swap.

Black and yellow tamper circuit, sticking with same 2 wires going to TAM in panel.

that leaves..all on the same cable going to the bell box outside presumably

yellow/ blue core - old panel.. blue external bell minus; yellow TR
red/black core -old panel... red external bell +; Black BHO
Green/White Core -old panel...green Internal bell minus; white internal bell +

I don't have any PIR sensors or internal buzzer as buzzer was part of old panel.
The veritias 8 compact does appear to have a small inside panel also.

any help would be greatly appreciated

Internal speaker is behind PCB on vertias 8 compact

Any idea which of my existing wires connect to ABCDS? Is it possible that my old bell box doesn't have a strobe?

Depending on what is on green and white ? It may be a strobe you would be better posting a picture of the bell box wiring ....but here is the connections you need assuming green and white are strobe ( you may have to add the white core with the red one ....

Thank you,yes I took a pic of the bell box I haven't studied it yet but I notice it has a +/- for the strobe,green and white,older setup up...but i think you have already answered my question

Before I wire in the veritas 8 C, is there a smart alarm box for wired sensors that might be a better upgrade?

Texecom 8c is basic alarm control panel with LED zone indication.
Other control panels are available with LCD zone description
Depends on your budget and what you are wanting the alarm to do.
Hybrid control panels use wireless and hard wired technology.
Notifications via mobile etc.

Just considering my opinions as now would be the time to upgrade,veritas 8c is prob fine for my needs however a remote keypad,mobile alerts,the ability to arm and disarm remotely would be nice
