Hi,

I have had a Veritas 8 for many years with an RKP in the garage.
I have just moved the main panel into a cupboard and added a new RKP in the hall.
This new RKP, with an address of 2, works fine.
I just checked the old RKP in the garage, with an address of 1, and it double bleeps when keys are pressed and generally is no use to try and set or unset the alarm.

As I opened the old RKP to check the address, this may be down to disturbance, but just wondering if anyone might comment on any compatibility issues.

They are wired in parallel at the main panel as that is how it is done on the Veritas 8.

The 2 RKPs look the same from the outside but are obviously slightly different inside.

Happy to replace the old one if needs be.

No...I was just going by the instructions that came with the RKP :-

Configuring the Keypad
===============

When the system is powered up it automatically checks and configures all connected keypads. It is strongly recommended that the system is completely powered down (mains and battery) before wiring a keypad.

That is what I did but I will have a look at page 23 of the manual tomorrow.

Thanks

Firstly if the addresses are the same none of them would normally work properly.

However if you were logged in at one keypad and then tried to use the other you may find it doesn't respond.

press Reset until keypad returns t day mode before trying other keypad.

All good. Original RKP in the garage was faulty.
It may have been the disturbance of being opened to check it's address or it may have failed prior to this I do not know, as it does not get a lot of use.
In short, I removed the wiring for the new RKP and just had the original connected and it was still faulty.
New RKP purchased for the garage and both now working together as required.
