Hi,

My parent's alarm (Veritas 8C) has been working fine, but recently the sounder stopped working (it has not been serviced since it has been installed - probably since the 90's!!). Everything thing else is fine i.e. sensors, panel, panic button etc. I recently removed the external box and found there was a lot of rust and the connections were knackered.

I just need some help wiring the sounder and siren back, I tried the same wiring as i found it but it does not seem to work.

Currently, the sounder/bell (horn) has two wires (red/black), there is a blue siren with two wires (red/black), and there is a green LED with two wires (red/black).

The wire that goes into the house and into the control unit (panel) has 4 wires coming out of it, red, black, yellow and blue. I have followed these wires back to the control unit. The yellow wire goes into aux +, the blue wires goes into aux -, the red wire goes into A and the black wires goes into B of the control unit. There are no wires going into C and D and these are connected by a link. Also S has no wire. I have looked at the manual (online), but I am finding it difficult to make the right connections.

Can someone please advise me on what connections I need to make, bearing in mind I am a novice, but I can follow instructions =).

P.S. I have tested the siren and sounder with a 12V battery and they are working fine. Also there are two fuses in the control unit F1 and F2 (i think) I have checked them both and they seem ok.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Ish
