I am just fitting the extraction pipework for a new cooker hood in 5" rigid duct. There is a horizontal run of 1.5m and then a vertical run of 1.5m to go out through a roof tile.
I have a condensate trap at the bottom of the vertical run and i believe these are usually taken outside. This is not possible in the configuration I have and I need to discharge it into the soil stack.
I assume the best way to do this is a strap boss on the stack and then a spring loaded "dry" tundish to connect the condensate pipe to.
My only concern is with the extractor at full power would this actually force the valve in the tundish open and cause pressure in the soil pipe? Is this a concern or shall i just crack on and do it?
