Very loud water sound

Dear forum members,

We have recently had a stop tap fitted outside by the water board, we have since fitted a new rising main inside the house, however whenever any taps are turned on in any part of the house, there has now developed a rushing/gushing sound which is very loud.

Can anybody advise of any possible reasons for this and remedies.

Often a part-closed tap or stopcock. Open them fully, then close about 1/4 of a turn so they don't seize.
