We have had a Worcester 28Si II combi boiler for approximately 3 years which has previously worked well without any problems.
Lately we have noticed that if the central heating is on/has just been on, then the hot water is very hot (we measured it at 63degrees C). This is despite the hot water dial on the boiler being turned down to near minimum.
The second problem which started around the same time is that the hot water tap on the bathroom wash basin makes a loud shuddering/vibrating noise once the water has been running for a few seconds. This noise stops if we increase the flow by opening the tap further, but returns if we reduce the flow again. I was told that the shuddering was down to a worn tap valve, so I bought a replacement tap head gear set. On replacing the old head gear, I found bits of disintegrated washer in the tap seat, which I removed. Replacing the old head gear seemed to have done the trick for a week or two, but the problem is now back and is as loud as ever. This second problem is confined to this one tap.
Does anyone have any answers/suggestions as to what these problems might be and whether they're related?
Mike
