Hi
The lintels to a couple of the windows on a victorian terraced house that we are in the process of buying have seen better days and need repair. How are they constructed? Were they just a single piece of stone with render to the outside? You can see a picture of it here - is that just render that has fallen off from the bottom side and so just need re-rendering?

The cills are also in need of repair
Would this be a case of sealing and then using an external filler? Can I mix in some sharp sand with filler to get a more textured finish?

Many thanks
Chris

hi , the underside of the reveal is just loose render fallen away , just re-render that,

the cill , just scrape all the loose off and build up with filler or probly better , sand and cement , and re paint,

It looks like the front wall has been knocked down and rebuilt as it was well out of plumb.
