Vokera Combi - Is this diverter stuck?

Hi,

I have an old Vokera Eclipse combi boiler.

It currently has a problem whereby the central heating will heat up when the domestic hot water is turned on. Turning the CH off at every point possible (on thermostats, the timer on the boiler, and electronically on the boiler) doesn't make a difference.

This makes me believe the diverter valve is faulty in some way.

One thing I have noticed is that with the fulcrum arm engaged, the end of the valve is not flush with the arm - as per the image below:

Image 1 - shows the fulcrum arm
Image 2 - is a close up of the end of the valve, which appears to be stuck out to me
Image 3 - how I imagine the valve should look (I've photoshopped it)

Is my presumption correct?

If so, can I simply remove the arm & cover and clean the valve up?

I've tapped the end of the valve with a hammer (gently!), but it wont budge.

Thanks!![/b]

Errm, best to find out how it works before hammering ;)
!

Eclipse? or Excel? :D

Does the arm move when you turn a tap on?
If not, you might just need a diaphragm (kit).
Likely to be gunged up generally and needing a proper service though.

I've had a previous combi with a sticking diverter which 'responded' well to a gentle tap with a hammer :) ...never seen one with this sort of fulcrum arm though.

It's definitley an old Eclipse ESC, I have the original manuals, and previous services have identified it as an eclipse. Also on the inside of the cover is a sticker that says 'Vokera Eclipse'.

The arm doesn't move under any circumstance at the moment, however, the CH is (almost) completely drained due to work I'm doing on rads upstairs. The CH is also set as OFF in the vokera programmer...so I'm not sure I'd expect it to move??

I'm relatively au fait with combi CH systems, but not seen one with this arm setup before - my last house had an in-line motor on the diverter. I just wonder if the bolt seen in image 2 (in original post) should remain flush with the arm???

Thanks again for the help!!
