Thanks for any help.

Boiler is making a very loud noise is like wind in the trees. Occasionally and on heating only. It sounds as if its from the top area of the boiler but is carried by the pipes around the house and is very loud.
It fades in and out and when its on it varies in intensity on a roughly rythmic basis with a cycle duration of a second or so.
When I turn the hot water tap on full for a couple of seconds it all stops, and heating/boiler is then fine! Could be OK for the evening, or a week, before starting noise again, usually from cold.
Found this problem on another site - only explanation was -
Put in service kit. Reassembled it with all the bits replaced but was not confident that I had found any fault so decided to inspect the plate HE. This was clean but has a spring loaded non return valve in the flow. I was not very happy with this as it could be made to stick by closing it hard.
When reassembled it all worked ok.
Other possiblity, diverter valve fulcrum arm not returning properly causing the bobbin to make a noise (which isn't kettling). more than likely the front seal (primary side) and lime on the pin is causing this.
Push the fulcrum arm to the resting position when it's making the noise to see if the noise stops.
I tried this - and it dosen't.
Does anyone really know what's wrong here?
Many thanks.
