Hi, My boiler yesterday stopped firing up to give me hot water or heating. The pilot light is still lit and I have tried relighting it also. I recently had it serviced and have also had the diaphragm replaced. Any ideas as to what could be causing the problem?

u don't need the power on to be able to light the pilot. is the pump running. is the power light on the boiler

Oh ok, sorry a bit clueless about this stuff. There is no power light on my boiler so not sure how I check that the powers not gone. The pump doesn't seem to be working. It's really not doing anything other than keeping the pilot lit

check the rcd (switch) on the main electric bored hasn't tripped. or if you have a light on the switch next to the boiler is it on.

I checked and nothing has tripped on the fuse box. I don't have a power light on the boiler socket either, but changed the fuse there and it made no difference

ok the only other fuse is inside the boiler. if you feel confident u can check and change that. there are 2 screws at the front underside of the white case. and at the back which sometimes r not put in. if u lift the case off and the front will drop down. you'll see a black box on the left hand side. there is a red plug in the box which houses a 2 amp quick blow fuse. if u get some of these fuses and swap it. if it blows again you may find out you have a problem with the pump fan causing it to blow. so try that and let me know

Thank you so much for your help. I'll go get some fuses and give that a go. Thanks again,

I've just got the old one out and it looks well and truly blown. So I think you have found the problem. Just need to locate a replacement and I shoudl be back in business. Thanks so much. You've made my day!!

not a problem. hope u get it sorted. and if they do blow u will probably need to get someone in. there's surely a few engineers down your way that on this site who will be able to sort it for you.
