Hi People,

New here and after help already.

We have a vokera linea 726 combi bolier. Yesterday I turned it off of Heating&water to just water. Used taps couple of times, it was providing hot so all OK. But this morning it just flashes up fault code 6.

The instructions say turn off for 10 seconds to reset but it will not.

Anyone any ideas what cose 06 means? Or what i can do about it?

Thanks

matt

According to Vokera documentation (which you should have with the boiler!) Fail code 6 indicates an internal wiring or sensor problem associated with the hot-water operation of the boiler (which sort-of lines up with what you said happened). If it IS a sensor fault, it needs to be fixed but this would be a job for an engineer. Must say that it's odd that the fault only happens in HW-only mode.

Does it still work without showing the fault if you put it back to HW & Heating? If so, with the timer control off and / or room thermostat turned right down it'll probably work until you can Get Someone In.

Further development. Turned it back on, lit up ok, no error codes. Heating worked OK, water was odd, would run hot for very brief 5 seconds or so then go cold. Turn it off and try again, same happens runs hot then goes cold.

Could this maybe a water pressure issue now?

This is more likely to be rersult of system not cleaned. While (old) Linea range indicated sensor failure with code indication, am not sure if yours still has that facility.

WHat are you doing up at that time of the morning DP?

Thanks for the reply guys.

Well left it all turned off overnight, turned on this morning and works as should???? Go figure.

And DP with system cleaning mentioned it shouldnt really need it as its only been in 18 months. Thats why i was a bit annoyed it went faulty for a bit, only 6 months out of guarantee.

Keeping fingers crossed.

Went to bed early (what with her that must be obeyed watching her channels). So it was early to bed and very early out of it. So what is your excuse?

System cleanse is carried out at the boiler change/ installation stage. If this was a replacement boiler, sediment in the existing installation has to be removed to offer a clean system to the new boiler. If this is not done, the sediment makes its way into the hot water heat exchanger gradually choking it to eventally cause the burner to shut down every so often to allow built up heat in the main heat exchanger to dissipate in the hot water heat exchanger. All the heat that a burner produces is soaked up by the hot water heat exchanger when the boiler delivers stated hot water flow rate
