volvo brakes

Why is it that only Volvo cars and buses have brakes that are very very sharp. i've never come accross any company that makes them so sharp, especially on buses.

I used to work as a road test technician for a large brake lining manufacturer and we supplied Volvo with a fair proportion of their brake liners for their truck range and I don't think they were any sharper than volvo's competitors vehicles. It may be different on their car range, but this could be due to the size of the servo used. The problem may lay when the OE liners or pads wear out and are replaced by spurious products from who knows where.
