We are planning our bathroom refurb. Its a relativley small bathroom 2.5 x 1.8 m. We have a corner shower and a space saver bath. We plan to get rid of bath for a walk in shower. Existing shower has white tiles with white grout which has become discoloured over time. Wife wants wall panneling instead of tiles to stop the prospect of grout discolouration. I like tiles and have floated the idea of grey grout. When it comes to wall panellling could anyone who has used it advice what to look out for when it comes to specs and different brands recomended or to be avoided.

Thanks in advance

Tiles, and epoxy grout which is far more resistant to discolouration as it is impermeable (unlike normal grout, hence why it causes problems).

Nice tiles look far better than any panels, in my opinion....

Wall panels every time!
They are usually dead flat so very, very easy to wipe clean.
They are also very easy to seal neatly to the shower tray using silicone and a tool like the Screwfix:
"No Nonsense Smoothing Tools Straight Joints (92313)"
Some have a little texture on the surface and most are very heavy - I gave myself a hernia lifting a full sheet of Multipanel.
Joining sheets side by side can be tricky because they have a tongue and groove lap joint. Multipanel have a guide to help:

Thanks Roddy. Have you had a lot of experience fitting these? We have been looking at this brand https://mermaidpanels.co.uk/faqs
And this brand. https://fibo.co.uk/fibo-wall-panel-collections/
Have you fitted these?

Hello,
No I don't have much experience of these - just the 2 bathrooms when we built our house.

PS - that was 12 years ago and they both look fresh to this day!

We used Multipanel, which is a sort of plywood base for one room and https://www.wetwall.co.uk/ for the other, which is nearer to a fine MDF.
They are, of course, both waterproof !
I don't know if they are still made in the same way nowadays.
