Hi
While hacking off old plaster around the 1st floor window at the rear of my house I have noticed a significant gap between the inner leaf and outside of the wall. This is to the left and right of the window. This gap is about 1/2" to 3/4". This extends for about 3ft from the right hand side and about 2 ft from the left of the window, and about 2 ft of the center of the window vertically from center. The external arch also looks like two bricks are about to slip. The pointing has failed badly as it has been neglected and has been falling off as I have been working from the inside. I haven't been at the wall with a machine as I know the wall was in poor condition but even pulling off the old plaster is causing the pointing to fall off. What can I do to stop the wall from falling down ?
