Hi,
I am putting in a false ceiling in a room about 4m x 4m. happy with most aspects (plasterboard on metal frame fixed to new joists at 1m centres) but have not been able to find anything specific about fixings for the wall plates. M12 studs at 400mm centres as for a floor would seem excessive but a few 4-5mm screws into rawlplugs seems a bit flimsy.
(1) One side is concrete block wall, was thinking of joist hangers each with 4x 6mm fixings into 40mm (brown) rawlplugs.
(2) Second side is rough stone wall with hard cement render. Some longer fixing needed here....maybe M8 or M10 coach bolts or studs going through timber wall plate approx 100mm into wall? Or hangers again?
Any thoughts or recommendations?

Could you not just use 4" x 2" timbers with 6" thunder bolts, the type that screw straight in to masonry.
