Hi all
Just in the planning stage of a self build in a terraced house with my neighbors.
Currently we both have wooden structure lean-to's on the back of the lounge, and we are thinking of taken this down, and replacing with a brick built structure as its a cold area and never used and problems with rodents getting through the rubbish structure.
1. Now I know I need to dig down for proper footings, and use wall starters to tie the walls together, but do I need to run a dpc behind the wall starter?
2. Does the wall starter need to go down below dpc?
3. How would I run the floor damp membrane into the existing walls?
4. Also as there is an existing airbrick on the original back wall, if I block this up and create an opening lower down, can I use 110mm soil pipe to extend this to the new cavity wall?
5. The party wall was just going to be constructed of single thermalites (around 2m length, 2m high), can this be built off the slab?
Thanks in advance
