hi all,
I'm about to fill a cavity that's formed between a building and an extension.
I've chased out all the mortar and the starters are bent all over the place
The wall starters that are there have been screwed to the original building in only two places per strip and the leaves only go into the extension brick work a few times per starter. Same for both inner and outer leaf.
Is this normal?
Is there a standard practice for installing?
To what extent do starters have influence over movement and Would only having a couple of fixings per tie be in any way responsible for (not halting) the movement.
It seems unlikely to me that such small fixings could prevent that happening, but I can see how many of them would equal a considerable anchoring force.
Please educate away
