We are looking to purchase a 1930s bungalow and have determined that the wall ties are beginning to corrode causing horizontal cracks. Its straightforward to add new ties to keep the wall security and strength but, what happens with the old ties? If they are left in place they will continue to corrode and will lead to further cracking.
