I have a hall which is painted white over lining paper. The paper is fine but it's peeling at edges about 1 1/2 inches. Is there a way of re-pasting the edges so when I re-paint it won't look so bad?

Any ideas please.

Thanks

Couple of choices --

You could mix a small amount of paste, gently lift the edges with a filling knife or scraper, brush the paste inside the gap and damp sponge it down.

I would just do the above as I mentioned but using emulsion instead of paste then sponge down.

So, I've now done the work.

The paper was painted with emulsion so needed lots of damp sponging to make supple. The paint trick sounded clever but didn't have enough tack to keep the paper on the wall till it was dry. I got a tube of bonding compound intended for sticking wallpaper borders and this did the trick.

Good luck to others

I would just reapply the PVA primer again that should do the trick
