Hi, I am wallpapering my front room and the chimney breast has had an extension on one side to cover pipes coming down from the upstairs bathroom. The extension is made out of chipboard and the previous wallpaper came off very easily so I was wondering how is it best to decorate.
Should I a) skim the chipboard
b) rip it out and replace it with plasterboard
c) just wallpaper it
d) wallpaper it after putting down some lining paper
I read somewhere that as long as you put paste on the wall (to stop the chipboard absorbing all the water from the paste) then it should be ok. Is this the case?
