We have laminate in our bathroom that I don't think is practical so want to put lino down.

I don't know how much of a hassle it would be though because the people who owned the house before us put the laminate down first and then put skirting boards, a new toilet and a new sink down on top of it. So presumably when we remove the laminate there'll be quite a gap between the floor and skirting boards/sink/toilet.

Would we need to use a thick underlay with the lino to bring it up to the right level or just use some sort of sealant to fill the gaps?

TIA

keep in mind you should use silicon around all cut edges to finish so assuming a 11mm gap 9mm ply with a small bead will do
or 6mm with a 4mm bead will cover the gap
