Want to install PIR in downstairs toilet

Hi

In my downstairs toilet I have one low voltage spotlight with is switched on by a standard pull cord. There's no other source of light so I was thinking of installing a PIR so the light automatically comes on.

Can I install a ceiling PIR between the switch and light?

I'm not sure about the neutral, how can i check and what difference does that make?

some PIR switches require a neutral to work. you need to have a meter to find out for sure

Make sure that you set the time for long enough, otherwise you'll be sitting there, contemplating your navel, and you'll be plunged into darkness
