The only war crime commited was letting camera crews follow soldiers under extreme pressure and judging them. Earlier in the day the insurgents were boobytrapping their dead and injured, killing US troops. Act and ask later.

Think you are right .... If you have seen your comrades blown up when approaching fallen enemy ... shoot first !!
Absolutely no doubt whatever, may look bad from a sofa watching tv .. but it is real life .. not fiction.

Of course the soldier in question was wrong, but get the camera crews out and let the soldiers shoot the lot of the camel nobbers whether theyre armed or not!
I dont recall the insurgants/iraqis complaining about the likes of bigley etc,and now it seems woman are not safe from these scum

shoot em all.

This obsession with news must be a real problem to service personal.

Although it may sound draconian I would think these issues would sometimes be over sooner with news blackouts. But then dodgy politicians also then take advantage without the scrutiny.

Why are the camera crews there for ? They either brave or stupid.

It is supposed to keep us informed on what is going on  . Instead it seems to be used to criminalise people in the middle of a bloody battle. They are also a drain on resources, having to have people assigned to them to protect and babysit them.

so correct me if im wrong (sure you will ) the enemy can plant bombs at the side of the road to blow convoys up /can drive car bombs into buildings /can behead people then be sick enough to post it on the net /can walk into public places with a couple of k of semtex strapped to them /can take pot shots at our troops as and when they feel like it
but some lad thats probably seen the above cant get p*ssed off with one of the above playing dead
he aint pretending now

Do you know if it's the british camera crews or rest of the world ?

If you live by the sword you die by it, no in betweens. I will kill your mates but when i have had enough i will ask for your help because i am hurt and expect it because the TV is here and you will help me..............yeh right.

There are british crews there but the ones who were with this marine unit were from CBS. So they are stitching up their own blokes!!!!!!!!!!!!

They should ban all camera crews. War is nasty anyway. By all mean have media team there to inform us what is going on but not in action.

decisions of that type are made at the time
not in retrospect
he did what he did
personal opinion id have had the rest as well
what would they do if the roles where reversed ?

It would seem that in the world in which our soldiers find themselves .. the enemy only respects power, I bet they laugh at 'negotiation' etc ... So this little war is dispelling the belief that the Yanks will pull out when the body bags start coming home ........ That must be good for us, aren't many gonna mess with the Yanks after this lot.

A strange little question, if the Arabian bomber becomes that martyr who goes off to a better place with umpteen virgins ..... How comes there are so many oldies in charge like old Bin-smacked-bum ? I guess its the old story, if it were that wonderful the poor bast ards blowing themselves up would be at the back of the queue ... be no old 'uns whatever !!

What will happen with the back lash of media reporting is british forces will be under more stress form media reporting they too will have big brother over there shoulder .

and instead of relying on instinct in the battle field they will pause for thought if the camera is watching and possibly get killed.

then the media coverage will be in there favour

what about the poor british lady who has just been killed?
