Apologises if this is in the wrong forum, but I wasn't sure which it fitted best!
I have already constructed the carcases of built-in wardrobes but am stuck with the doors.
I was planning to use MDF and paint gloss white but have two concerns:
1. Will i get a good enough finish with gloss paint over mdf? I was planning on using a mdf priemr first.
2. What thickness of mdf board should I use. I don't think 12mm is sturdy enough (a couple of the doors will be circa 2m tall) but 18mm seems to be overkill. Am i missing something, or can you get an in between thickness?
Having had a look at doros supplied with ready made wardrobes of similar height (ie Ikea) these seem to be about 15mm thick but are sturdy enough.
Any thoughts/comments appreciated.
