Hello,
I have a problem with an insulation design set out by architect who is now absent. We have done a loft conversion with a crown roof roof and two dormas.
The flat roof areas were fitted with warm deck roofs as instructed and the sloping sections have had PIR installed between rafters with ventilation gap as necessary. The contradiction lies with the installation of further insulation at ceiling level as indicated in attached sketch. Building control say that this poses harmful interstitial condensation risk but i believe with adequate vapour control layer combined with appropriate ventilation this risk is inconsequential.
Is there a solution other than removing the warm deck as building control unreasonably request.
