Hi,does anyone have the answer to the following please...we were informed that we qualify for the max warm front central heating allowance, after a visit by an assessor. We were then visited yesterday by a surveyor, who straight away said that the company he works for are not registered to fit lpg gas central heating. So his visited last ten seconds, and despite waiting a month for him, told us to contact warm front on monday. We live in a park home type detatched bungalow, currently have a lpg gas cooker and gas fire, but electrical/oil filled heaters in all the other rooms.which are expensive and not efficient. We also have an electric thermostat boiler. Before we were told that we should qualify for the scheme,(this information was given by an engineer giving us a quote to buy the central heating ourselves),we have had had four quotes for it to be fitted,so we know that lpg central heating is feasable and practical. Its just so difficult to search any information on this, despite trying as much as i can.Any information would be gratefully accepted.Thankyou

Can't see why warmfront can't fit an LPG system.

It could have been just the company they sent round that was not LPG qualified.

Apart from warmfront, you could get up to £1000/£1500 rebate from an installer on the A1 scheme via Plumb Center.

Spoke at length today with Warmfront.Warmfront themselves say they wont fit lpg, because it is not an efficient sysytem, and could put us in the fuel poverty bracket, which we had a good laugh at,as our last quarterly electric bill was over £700......We have had a reasonable quote from a central heating company, who are lpg registered, who were astounded that the government scheme does not allow the flexibility of fitting lpg systems where there is no mains gas supply. They are also A1 registered,so we should get an grant of £650. towards it. It seems unfair though,to us,and possibly thousands of others who live in rural areas etc. that dont have access to mains gas. Many thanks for your reply.

I work for a warmfront installer. We fit gas, oil, lpg, solar and heat pumps.

Wot's that??

have you considered an Air Source Heat Pump? Would they not install this instead? Probably cost about the same to run as lpg.
