been told the bearings are the cause of some serious racket- anyone know how easy/hard it is to replace the bearings etc- some help would be great
thanks
depends if you have the right tools and how good you are. at hp we had a special bearing puller made, made life very easy (although still time consuming
The casing is split down the middle so you remove the back half, loosen the door seal from the cabinet, remove the motor and the drum pulley, disconnect all hoses from the drum, disconnect the suspension units from the bottom of the drum then remove the drum. Undo the screws holding the drum together and lift off the front half. Knock through the spindle and lift out the inner drum, drift out the old bearings. You need to check for score marks or other damage on the bronze bush at the inner end of the drum shaft as damage there will soon destroy your new seal/bearings.
