still need more info.
how old is it,
what else happened
are you sure all the water is being pumped out (can you here pump)
try puting it on spin (turn it off while you select spin)
if that doesnt work, put grey outlet hose in bucket
what brand of soap powder do you use (no joke)
if you can not hear pump on spin it was probably this that caused your problem in the first place, you may have a broken pump wire.

If the door will not open after about 3 mins ( unplug the machine and wait ) Then the catch may well be faulty. I used to fix washers etc. before I saw the light ( i'm now in the retail IT business ).the only thing to do if this is the case is get the door open by whatever means needed and replace the catch. ( on whirlpool machines a big screwdriver would soon open the door !!! ).
