Washer Zanussi

My zanussi started to spin at an alarming speed (the like of which I have never seen before) mid wash cycle. This caused water to spill over the top of the machine. It was yet to reach the rinse program. Does anyone know what might cause such a thing?

it could be motor control board or tacho. if you switch the m/c back on (when empty) if when motor is running it spins fast i would guess the tacho

Great Advise breezer! I looked for the tacho and found it to have worked loose. All working fine now.....
