I have recently had a new fitted kitchen installed but the plumbing for the washing machine goes directly into the u bend for the sink and an explosion of suds always appear in the sink when using the washing machine. There is about a 2 " gap behind the washing machine.Can anyone tell me if that's enough space to seperately plumb the machine and if so, how is it plumb.
Thanks in advance for any help

I think the answer is in your question;
No, if you want to install a 4" waste pipe.
Yes, if you want to install a 1.5" waste pipe.

Your waste pipework cannot cope with the volume of water it is being asked to remove. :(
You could enlarge the pipework or fit a standpipe for your washer waste, or maybe check for a blockage. :)

thanks for your replies....me thinks that the washing machine hose is too close to the base of the sink trap so ill have to get a larger trap with the hose conection lower down :rolleyes:
