I have a Candy cc230x condenser tumble dryer (6 years old) and a Nextra washing machine (2 years old). Recently they have both begun making loud banging noises during operation, whilst continuing to perform normally in every other way. After watching the tumble dryer in the dark I spotted a spark through the filters at the bottom of the machine, at the same time as the bang. As the machines use the same wall socket (never at the same time) I suspected the socket maybe faulty, but on trying a different socket the same problem occurred. I assume this is likely to be some static electricity discharge, but has anyone any idea if this is likely to be a problem with the machines (it seems odd to be happening to both?), or a problem with the sockets (why on both sockets?).
