washing machine door seal

can someone tell me if there is an easy way to change a door seal on a washing machine it`s a zanusi jet system 1600. it`s like trying to get a tyre on a wheel thats to big. any advice much appreciated, thanks

generic info:

remove any holding bands / strps first

2 drops (no more) of washing up liquid (to put back on front any bands)

leave in hot water for 10 mins
