my washer currently drains into a sink that drains into a drywell.....the drywell seems to be failing & i believe i reached a tree root when trying to snake it.....can i connect to my city pipe somehow?
I don't see a problem draining into your home's drainage piping, since that's how it's normally done.
You need to ensure that the elevation of the end of the drain hose is at least at or slightly above the level of the top of the machine. Otherwise, water will drain out of the machine during the agitate cycle, and it shouldn't. The drain hose should keep the water in the machine until it's pumped out during the spin cycle.
Maybe just check with your local plumbing inspector about draining into the nearby drain pipe just to make sure, tho. I don't see any problem doing that.
