washing machine not spinning-mums friend thought it would be

you have to help, my mums mates washing machine isn't spinning, we know nothing about washing machines except their supposed to spin (duh! ) we think it might be the drum but were not sure. but until its fixed she has to use mine!!!!!

Not enough information here. What is the make and model, did it suddenly stop working? When did it last spin? Does it wash and rinse OK?

What has mum's friend got to do with it - did she sell the machine?
