When my Hotpoint Aquarius 1200 empties water before the spin cycle the water comes up into the kitchen sink. When the pump stops the water drains away as with normal sink water. This is a new problem. My guess is that the drain pipe from sink to grid, about 3 metres in length, is partially clogged up.
Do you think this is the likely case and is there a simple way of cleaning out the pipe? In the past I have had to clean out the grid which gets deposits from washing powders. I think that normal sink water is draining away more slowly than it used to.
The machine outlet is above the sink u-bend. but that is clear.
