Washing Machine will not spin

I have a Hotpoint Ultima 6kg washing machine.
Model type WMA 76
I can hear the watering entering the machine followed by a few clicks etc.
The drum will not spin,then i can hear the water going down the drain.
I have opened the door and turned the drum by hand.
There seems to be some resistance so i assume the belt is on but i would need to pull the machine out & look to make sure.

Can you advise what may be the cause from the above or can you advise anything i need to do to assist you more.

I will check,whilst pulling it out and having a look etc is there anything i can do or look for should they be ok ?

Also check the motor plug on top of the pcb just under the consol panel. They have a habit of pulling off.

Is the motor plug hard to see ?
I mean can i just follow the wire from the motor up to the pcb ?

Yes , when u remove the lid u will see plug in connectors on the pcb. Just push them on. The motor one is a bank of 7 white wires.
